The great richness of mediterranean climate, speaking of water, is the winter rain. It rains in our region when temperature are mild: spring and autumn.
So plants in these seasons are beautiful, healthy, blossoming.... The winter visitor has a big shock with blooming mimosas in february, oceans of colourfull Cistus in april or the "second spring" of small plants in autumn ....
But summer comes every year. And it is time to live out, admiring wildness and nature, enjoying long mild evenings.... Wild plants adapt to this summer draught, they take a summer rest, some hide under the soil.


In order to keep a colourfull garden in summer, the mediterranean gardenner have to be clever and wise: mulching, compost, deep rooted plants, shading, windbreak hedges, exotic plants, water-saving watering....
